I made this for an assignment at OSA; we had to make an animal out of a mass-produced object.

She's got a wire frame and feet, and the feathers were cut out of an old book and assembled using a glue gun. A lot of work, but fun!

I might make more of these birds in the future: a flying one, and a baby in a nest!

Wire, old book, hot glue.

What a beautiful expression on her face. That combined with the weight when last I held her,3/4 finished, you have created a creature so delicate and bird-like, she looks ready to fly away. She even seems to have hopped and changed her position on the pages from one picture to the next. As the donor of the book, I rest assured that you have given a kind and loving ending to a dime-store novel who truly deserved to land in a wastebasket when it was finished!

Well done, Nayla! <3

What a wonderful expression on it's face! Captured beautifully. Combining that with the weight of the body when last I held it, 3/4 of the way finished, it is like you have recreated a creature so delicate and bird-like, it has to be ready to fly away. It even seems to have hopped and changed its position on the pages from one picture to the next.
Having been the donor of the book, all should rest assured that this is a wonderful, loving ending to a dime-store novel that truly deserved the wastebasket as its final resting place. Well done, Naylachan! <3

Awww, thanks so much! So glad you like it, and glad you think the book went to good use!

I'm making another one, in flight, with the same book, so who knows how many birds will come out of it!
